Why Delamere?
The school educated several foster children who stayed with Alex and John Timpson. When closure was threatened in 2007, following a fall in numbers, the couple stepped in to help. The aim was to establish a centre of excellence among small schools.

Extra Curriculum
Timpson has invested £150k to provide extra activities to significantly stretch the curriculum. Pupils now experience subjects such as cooking, dance, forestry and farming. Alex Timpson sat on the Board of Governors, as does John Timpson today.
Success
Within 3 years, Delamere was classified by Ofsted as an outstanding school and is now an Academy. It is the smallest school in the country to achieve this status.
