People often worry about the amount of new skills they will be asked to learn when starting a career with Timpson. They needn’t. From day one, we provide our colleagues with full skills training on all our services. Most of the training is delivered in a branch, but we also run specialist courses in our local training centres. Training is a huge part of our business and our fantastic training colleagues make it good fun as well as a valuable learning experience.
We are proud of the way we train our colleagues and we know it works well. Most of our training manuals are picture-based and our skills assessments are mostly practical. This means that a colleague who may have difficulty with reading and writing is not unfairly disadvantaged.
We know it takes our colleagues approximately 16 weeks to learn the basics, although some people pick things up quicker than others. Training is an on-going process at Timpson, and because we are always introducing new and exciting services, there are always more skills to learn. Our experienced in-branch trainers, together with our dedicated training team based in Timpson House, are always on hand to offer the support and guidance needed to enable our colleagues become fully skilled.
